Calixta’s behavior in The Storm

Calixta was a very passionate woman. She loved her husband and son very much. In a way I understand her situation, because it was not her intentions for Alce to show up at her house the day of the storm. Being the kind woman she is, she invited him in . They haven’t seen each other fives years prior to her getting married, so it was going to be kind of strange having him in her house. I don’t blame Calixta for anything because when Alce tried to force himself onto her, she tried to say no but, when commiting adultery with someone your weakness gets in the way. I do applaud her for standing her ground when things could have gotten worse with her husband and son coming home from the storm. Alce role in the story was to show up to Calixta’s house and try to sleep with her. When she fell into his kisses, he thought he had her in his wings. But they both knew it was wrong especially with them being married.
