One of my favorite readings from the class is “Thank You Ma’am.” I like the story because it explains the thought of a woman helping out a low-class boy. I love how the woman Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones helped out the boy named Roger even though he tried to rob her purse in the beginning of the story. Also how she took him to her house and made him wash up, fed him, and even gave him money for the blue shoes he wanted. Many times when someone is getting rob, they call the cops. Mrs. Jones knew it was more than Roger trying to rob her. She had that grandmother mindset and wanted to help Roger the best she could. I wish the ending didn’t end the way it did. I feel like they should meet up again, because I believe Roger appreciated Mrs. Jones taking of him.
