One changed event in A Good Man is Hard to Find

One event I think that caused the story to end the way it did was when the grandmother insist they go visit the house that was in Georgia. During their road trip, the grandmother insisted that her son stop by a house she told him was in Georgia. She thought it would be a great experience for the kids. Agreeing the son decided to go by the house, but a sudden scream from his mother caused them to get into an accident. That is when the grandmother remembered the house was in Tennessee and not Georgia. Not wanting to tell them, she tries to come up with a solution. The Misfit then arrives and kills the whole family. I believe instead of trying to go look at the house, and just continuing their road trip to Florida would have saved them from getting killed. Like they say everything happens for a reason.
